At the Beauty Wax Room, we’ve perfected the art of waxing. We’ve streamlined our process to maximize your comfort, take up less of your time, and leave you with smoother, longer-lasting results.

Ready To Get Waxed?

We offer two different methods of waxing, hard wax and soft wax. Both methods provide good results and work well with sensitive skin.

  1. Soft wax requires a strip to remove the hair and is normally used on larger areas of the body such as arms, legs, back and chest.

  2. Hard wax is thicker than soft wax and works by hardening on your skin. Normally used on more sensitive areas of the body such as Brazilian/Bikini and small areas. Our Aestheticians (Waxologist) will discuss your treatment prior to starting and will recommend the best type of wax to minimize discomfort.

Understanding Wax Types

If you’ve heard the terms “Mankini”, “Speedo” & “Manzilian wax”  you may be confused. But don’t worry—we’re here to clear things up!  At Beauty Wax Room, here’s how we differentiate our top three service offering.

Male Brazilian waxing isn’t just for porn stars anymore! Our male clients would not expect to have a MANzilian done. From CEO/Executive types to Soccer Dads. A lot of our clients are weekend warriors that cycle, run and swim who get this service done for comfort and speed but a majority of our clients get a MANzilian done for the cleanliness factor and to be sexy for their  significant others. Whichever type of guy you are, know that Beauty Wax Room is the place to get this done right!

Whether you want to call it grooming or manscaping, the practice of trimming and controlling one’s hairs has extended from the face to the chest area and now encompasses male waxing. Call it a bikini wax or a full Brazilian, male waxing has seen its popularity soar over the past couple of years. Behind it is the practicality of having to shave less – and feeling coarse and prickly hair as it grows back – and cleaning yourself up down there.

What is a Male Bikini Wax?

Not to be confused with hair wax for men, a bikini wax isn’t drastically different from what women undergo when they request this treatment at the salon.

What Does a Male Brazilian Wax Include?

It’s up to you to determine how much hair you want taken off – and where – and we’ll get to that shortly. In general, a waxing technician will use a combination of hard and soft waxes, depending upon the area, to remove all hair from the scrotum, perineum, and anal region and, if requested, the landing strip above.

Unlike with a razor, where you’ll feel the five o’clock shadow and all its prickliness after a couple of days, the result can last four to six weeks, depending upon how your hair typically grows in.

Waxing Benefits

1) Healthier Skin

Waxing is like a mechanical exfoliation process. it leaves you with brighter, younger looking skin.

2) Smoother Skin

After your wax, you’ll probably find that your skin smoother than it’s been in your whole life. That’s because waxing removes hair from the root and exfoliates your skin.

3) Longer-lasting results

When hair is removed by the root, it takes much longer to grow back than with shaving.

4) Thinner and finer hair

When your hair does grow back after waxing, you’ll notice it grows back finer and softer.

5) Minimal irritation

Many people find hair removal methods like epilation and creams irritating to the skin. However, waxing rarely causes this problem if it’s done by a licensed professional.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A BRAZILIAN WAX FOR GUYS

You’ll need to do a little prep work before you step into the waxing room for your male Brazilian wax.

So, before you head to the waxing station, you’ll need to to know what to do before, during and after.

How to prepare for your wax

Step 1

Please come freshly showered before your service. If you don’t have a chance to shower or had a long day at the office, book a shower time. Or you can call ahead and show up 15 minutes before your service time to do a quick rinse.

Step 2

Are you doing your first Manzilian for a special occasion like a vacation or a honeymoon? Then plan ahead. Can we do your male Brazilian wax right before your wedding? Absolutely. Although, we do recommend having it done more than once prior to your event. This is to ensure best case scenario when you are going to show it off.

Step 3

Exfoliation of the area is key before and after the male Brazilian waxing service. We highly suggest that you scrub the area thoroughly, especially the pelvic area since that’s where ingrown hairs are most common.

Step 4

We need at minimum an ⅛” of an inch of hair to wax; ideally, a ¼” to ½” of growth. How can you gauge how long that is? Typically, about 2 weeks from the last time you shaved. If it’s longer than that leave it alone. We can weed-whack it once you get here if it’s out of control. If you try to groom the area before coming in, you might make it too short to wax or we’ll have to go over the area repeatedly to pick up the really short stray hairs. This is no fun for you.

Step 5

We recommend 2 Advil an hour prior to your service unless you have a medical reason not to. This is a preventative measure to stop inflammation and swelling. Taking it right before your service will not save you. Tylenol before waxing is not a good substitute. Tylenol is a blood thinner. We don’t want you bleeding out on the table.

Step 6

Don’t take any caffeine or stimulants the day of your service. Morning coffee is fine if you are coming in in the afternoon.

Step 7

Don’t drink alcohol before your service. Alcohol thins your blood.

Step 8

Don’t take any Viagra or other ED medications prior to your service. Why draw blood to an area that has the possibility of bleeding?

LET IT BREATHE

Then we apply our signature wax. Hard Wax (also referred as a strip-less wax) or soft wax (use of a cloth strip) Depends on the area or wax you desire

DON'T SWEAT IT

Finally, we rejuvenate the area by applying our after-waxing products, like our after wax oil and lotion hair (vitamin e, tree tea oil and aloe).

Our after-wax collection has targeted formulas that work to banish bumps and help prevent and clear ingrown hairs while also calming and nourishing your skin. These deluxe products are available ONLINE and at BEAUTY WAX ROOM STORE for purchase.

SEX AFTER BIKINI WAX

Our advice is to wait 24 to 48 hours so your skin has time to heal and hair follicles can close. Doing so will prevent any further skin irritation.

AVOID SHAVING

You’ll have the urge to pick up the razor, but don’t do it. Regular, consistent waxing will lead to regrowth that is softer and sometimes even sparser.

EXFOLIATE

To eliminate ingrown hairs, it’s vital to exfoliate your pores daily with an exfoliating wash cloth.

KEEP IT CLEAN

Avoid applying heavy creams, gels or oils containing any harsh chemicals that may irritate the skin.

Waxing FAQs

Our wax experts answer your most pressing questions

For us, we consider the pelvis, shaft, testicles and perineum (taint) as part of the male Brazilian wax. There is the “Full Manzilian” that also includes the butt crack. We offer these services

Everyone handles pain differently. It’s not a walk in the park, but the most common comment we have from our clients is that it’s not anywhere near as bad as they expected. We will walk you through anything you can do during the service to make you service the least painful possible. If needed we can take breaks to let you breathe. We know it hurts but the pain doesn’t last forever.

Yes. Hair grows everywhere. Even on the penis

We can totally do that! Just let the aesthetician know before that waxing service starts, during the consultation. Removing hair is easy. Putting it back, not so much.

We will say consult with your doctor before coming in. We will work with you but we may deny service if we think it is not safe to move forward. If your hemorrhoids are inflamed? No.

Generally, the results will last 6 weeks. The first 4 times you come in, we ask that you come in at 6 weeks on the dot (or as close as you can make it). Why? Your hair grows on three different cycles and we are trying to get them all to sync up. The first few times you will have outgrowth in between waxing because the hair is not synced. The goal is to get your hair synced up to where you are clean for 4 weeks and growing out the last 2 weeks to re-wax. The long term goal is to be able to stretch your wax to every 8 weeks. There are cases where the times may be shorter or longer, but this is on a case by case basis. If your hair grows at lightning speed, we would still suggest you wait at least 4 weeks.

A male Brazilian wax service is scheduled for 20 minutes. We can also include a butt crack wax in that same service time. We will schedule up to 30 minutes for first time male Brazilian waxers. Density of the hair, pain tolerance and skin condition will determine how much of that time frame we will need. Once we have you on a regular cycle the times will shorten. We do the 45 minutes for worst case scenario. We will try our best to accommodate for pain breaks.

Most of our clients have confided in us that getting a male Brazilian wax is about the cleanliness more than anything else. There is less hair for body secretions to get stuck to and less smell this way. The other main reason to get a male Brazilian wax is that their significant others are demanding that they be clean and tidy down below. Times have changed.
